Needs Assessment Project
The Collective’s Needs Assessment Project is a multi-year research and knowledge application program that generates and mobilizes high-quality knowledge on the needs, concerns, and challenges of Manitoba’s French-speaking 2ELGBTQ+ community.

“Des nôtres” Study
This first study of the Collective’s needs assessment project laid the groundwork for a research and knowledge application program by providing an initial portrait of the health status as well as the needs, concerns, and challenges of Manitoba’s French-speaking 2SLGBTQ+ community. The results of this quantitative study are already being used to guide the creation of organizational or physical structures needed to better meet the needs of our community.

Youth Study
Phase II of the Collective’s needs assessment project, a participatory action research (PAR) initiative, helps better identify the health and well-being needs of teens aged 14 to 18.

Parenthood Study
Becoming a parent is not a given for members of our community. Phase III of the needs assessment project focuses specifically on the needs, challenges, and concerns of 2SLGBTQ+ individuals during the transition to parenthood.

Towards Care for All
This project aims to improve health services for French-speaking 2ELGBTQIA+ people in Manitoba by studying community needs and providing training to healthcare providers. It also aims to share best practices at the provincial and national levels.

Comfortable in Our Own Skin
The report from the “One of Us” Study (2021) recommends the implementation of safe social and health services for members of our community. The “Comfortable in Our Own Skin” project is a reflection on the means to achieve this.
